Day XLII in New Zealand
Day 42 |
Friday 12 December 2003 |
Hanmer Springs |
The second time we tried to do Whalewatching failed because of the mist
filling out the entire bay at 6 am. Nothing holds us in Kaikoura. It was
too loud between the railway and SH 1 but we will do another attempt to
watch whales in february. Our destination for today was Nelson and we planed to visit Hanmer Springs. The trip lead us into the mountains wiht great roads. It was very hot today, more than 30 degrees. We had a nice break at a blckhouse at the Mt. Lyfield ski station but it was really expensive. Hanmer Springs has got a great thermal reserve and many opportuneties to spent your time with. But it has only two small supermarkets. |
