With bike und „dinghy“ across the island

Five month with bag and baggage through New Zealand: A very special familyholiday

Escape from murky Eifel to springlike New Zealand and explore the island for five month with bag and baggage: This dream comes true for Frank Schmitz and his family.

EUSKIRCHEN(WA). On October 30th the Schmitz´ will get on board of the plane which takes them to the other side of the world. Spring is starting there and for the Schmitz´ it´s an adventure many people dream of.
Nearly half a year ago the family was hit by acute travel fever. What to do? The family council sat in ceference and decided unanimous: Now or never! Father Frank, freelanced driving instructor and instructor at the driving safety center at the Nürburgring, took a time-out and mother Uli, welfare worker at the Hermann-Josef-Home in Urft, got extra freetime. Malin and Laura said goodbye to their kindergarden for a few month to "conquer" New Zealand.
What´s so special about that? Well, they are on tour with a Yamaha FJ 1200 with a twoseated sidecar where the two kids take place while Frank and Uli sit on their bike. Only for the shipping they had to bulid a box for the bike which is on the way to NZ since the middle of September. The last weeks and days were very hectically because of all the million things they had to deal with but with help from the family, friends and their sponsor „Outdoor Hauschke“ it wasn´t any problem.
